New Event Brew
On Saturday, Sept. 12, 2020 the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce will host the fourth annual Hook, Line and Drinker Festival from 3-7 p.m. at the Bridge Park in Sylva, N.C.
The event is a celebration of Jackson County being the home of the WNC Fly Fishing Trail and the N.C. Trout Capital. There will be fly fishing guides and lots of outdoor adventure vendors, along with food trucks and children’s activities.
The popular Carolina Soul Band will perform classic soul/R&B/Beach music from 3-7 p.m.
The festival also welcomes a hearty mix of craft breweries from throughout the WNC
region. This year, local Sylva craft brewery Innovation Brewing will debut a special Hook, Line and Drinker Festival beer, with a portion of the proceeds going to help the chamber
continue producing the event in the future.
Nicole Dexter, co-owner of Innovation Brewing said, “We are so excited to be collaborating with the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce on this opportunity to contribute to the success of this festival which benefits everyone in our community on an economic and environmental level. This festival not only raises money for our local community through our amazing chamber it also benefits our local waterways and brings attention to our abundance of natural resources located in this county.”
“This specialty Hook Line and Drinker Ale we are creating with the chamber will help to raise money to ensure the continuance of important festivals and opportunities like this in our
community,” Dexter added. “It’s a wonderful way for us to support our local economy and environment and put out a really fun, new beer in the process!”
Jackson County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Julie Spiro Donaldson agreed.
"We're so grateful and appreciative of Innovation Brewing collaborating with us on this new beer. It will be a nice way to add some revenue to the chamber's bottom line so we may continue providing the best possible event for years to come," said Donaldson. "We know the new festival beer will be a delicious addition to Innovation's already stellar line-up of craft beers. We hope our festival and fishing friends enjoy it and know that it supports the Hook, Line and Drinker Festival."
